We learned about Barbara Frietchie  and the “Too soon to be a woman.” Barbara Frietchie stand up to the Confederate Amry during the civil war. She raised the Union flag in front of them while others took their flag down. In the story too soon a woman, Mary, a 18 years old girls who follow the poor family with no food and money, ate a big mushroom to test whether it’s poisonous. She risk her life for the starving kids and at the end she didn’t die. She is responsible and selfless. she act too soon like a adult because she was only 18 a teenager. We learn that we need to spell out number out up to ninety-nine. For example, we can’t write “He has 2 dogs”. We need to write “He has two dogs.”

Last Friday night, we had winter dance. The casino was very fun but it’s so expensive. We need to pay 250 NT for it and we only get one little pack of drink. It’s so expensive and I think last year dance is better. We play many games like Big 2, the dice game and the Spinning roulette wheel. Although I loss many money at the Spinning roulette wheel, i like it a lot. We can either earn lots of money and lose all our money very fast in that game. This week is spirit day. We need to dress up this week according to the theme of the day. On Monday, we dress up as twins. On Tuesday, it’s occupation. On Wednesday, it’s class theme. On Thursday, it’s crazy hair day. On Friday, it’s black and white day. For our class theme, we need to dress girl and boy opposite. I don’t like spirit week because it’s very annoying to dress differently everyday.

On Sunday, i went to Taipei. I went to Page One, Taipei 101, to buy books. I went to find books that was in our book list and i was only able to find one book, the Call of the Wild. Then i went to Costco to buy food and beef. I also brought some salmon and cookies. When i got home, it was like 11 o’clock. Everyone was tired and i go to sleep at 11:30.

This week, we learn about prepositional Phase and Harriet Tubman. We also done our time reading this friday. Prepositional phase is made up of prepositon and an object. For example, i run around the room, “around the room”is the prepositional phrase. Around is preposition and room is the object. I learn that Harriet Tubman help many fugitives escape to the north by the underground rail road. Harriet Tubman was a strong, determined, selfless woman. She is often called Moses by the fugitives so the slave hunters won’t know she is actually a female. This week time reading we read about the function of brain. Brain is really amazing. People often determine a person’s death by seeing if the brain is dead. Brain control every part of our body and each section of the brain does different job.

This week, Taiwan host the Asia Baseball Championship at Tai-Chung from Saturday to Monday. Tai wan had lose to Korea on Saturday, win Philippians on Sunday and lose Japan yesterday. I was very depress about the score yesterday. We are still ahead of Japan at the 5 inning by 2-1, but soon we lost 8 points at the 7th inning by 2- 9. At the end, we lose to japan by 2-10. Although Japan gets the ticket to Olympics at Beijing, we can still go to the Olympics if we win another games on March with other 8 team for the last 3 ticket to Olympics.

This week we learn about singular and pluarl. This was quiet easy for every one in the class. Basically, we just need to put a “s” at the end of the word to make it plural. If a word is end with sh, ch, u need to add es to the back of the word. There are some exception, like moose is both singular and plural. We read about how Harriet Tubman help slave to escape to Cananda through underround rail road. Harriet Tubman was a brave, cares for others and determined woman. She is a great leader. In the story, the author use indirect characterization to describe Harriet Tubman.
