This week, I learn about animals adaptation. Adaptation is a behavior or shape of the organism that help increase its survival rate. For example, stick bug camouflage itself into a stick so it can hid from birds and other predators. Also the rabbit have strong legs enable it to run fast so it won’t be catch by predators. I also learn that dogs or people change themselves in order to live in harsh condition. Buck in the story of “The Call of the Wild” change from a playful dog to a fierce dog in order to compete with others. Buck steals food and fight with others for power. Adaptation is very important and it help every organism in the world to survive in its environment.

Do you know how to use a fire extinguisher. I learn how to use a fire extinguisher for a research project. Fire extinguisher is very easy to use except it is very heavy. First, you need to find a fire extinguisher when there’s a fire. Then you pull out the safety pin out of the handle and lift the fire extinguisher up with your right hand (If you’re right handed). Next pull out the nozzle from the side of the fire extinguisher and hold it with your left hand. Finally aim the nozzle at the fire and press down the handle. It is really hard to press the handle so try to tell adult to do it. It is very useful to put out fire. This Chinese New Year, I went to Kaohsiung and Tainan. It was fun and interesting. I went to many night markets to plays games and eat food. The ground was awfully dirty and was full of plastic bags, food, chopsticks, tissues and etc. In Kaohsiung, i went to the “Dream Mall”. It is humongous and it will take an entire day to go through all the floors. There’s a big Ferris wheel on the roof. I waited in the line for hours until i can get up to the cart. From the top of the Ferries wheel, i can see all the landscape and buildings of Kaohsiung. The weather was windy so our cart started to shake. My cousin is extremely scare of height so he didn’t speak at all on the Ferris wheel.

During the break, i ate lots of sea food and candy. I did none of my homework until the last day. After another month we are going to have spring break. I can’t wait to have break again.

Howard is back to our school this week!! Howard is my classmate last year and I guessed everyone know who is Howard.  I am happy that I’m taller than him and not being the shortest person in our class.  Howard seems calm and not acting weirdly in class. He had a cool hair cut that looks weird to many people.  Anyway, I’m glad he is back and wishing many more HAS students will come to PAS. For example, Stanley and Wilson. Howard recommended me a interesting game called Extreme sport. The game is really weird.  You need to choose which country you want to play in and start running to escape from bull, police and crazy people.  Many people, such as Ben and Kyle, are  interested in the game.

Today, we finally take our English vocabulary test and I get lots of mistake in it. During the test, we had a fire drill and it was fun. Everyone walk out and line up at the play ground.

    This week is the final exam week. I have in total 3 finals. They are Geometry, French, and World History.  This week is very boring and Mr. Hay keeps telling us to write our weeks in review. I have to study and look over all the equations, proof and theorem for Geometry. I guess Mr. hay will put like 20 question of proof in our test.  Yesterday, we had five new students in our class and they are Gordan, Vincent, Lino, Sonya and Connie.  I’ve already know Sonya and Connie and the rest are new to me. Many of them are here for the Chinese New Year break except Gordan and Vincent. Vincent lives in the dorm and lino came to our school by train. Mr. Vassilakis is very angry ate us because we made a whole mess in his room on Friday. He punished us by not letting us have chair and desk in class for a week. We have to sit on the floor and this week is the final. I wonder how I will be able to write my test on the floor. This happen exactly the same as last year.

    This week end I went to visit my cousin’s new house. She is 14 years old older than me and she is just married. They have a new house and it is big. All their furniture, stair and drawer are all brand new. It was fun visiting and exploring their house.

This week’s date is 7-11 which is a store name.  Anyway, this week we learn about prefix. Prefix is letter or word that you add in front of a word to change it’s meaning. Also, we starts to read Holes from Chapter 1 to 7. It was really interesting and weird. I wonder why would someone tell kids to dig holes in a middle of a dry lake to punish them. This story is about a kid named Stanley went to Camp Green Lake and he needs to dig a hole everyday.

During the weekend, i do nothing but writing my homework. I slept, wrote my home work, ate food, wrote my homework, slept and so on. It was boring and we had many projects to do. We need to do a poster on the growth of Wisconsin Fast Plant. Wisconsin Fast plant is really amazing. We get to see the whole life cycle of a plant in just a month. It was fun to pollinate the flower with a frozen dead bee. In the process of pollination, i broke the bee’s head off and it smelled disgusting. Inside the head was black and solid. I don’t want to come back!!  This week we need to prepare  lots of tests and do lots of homeworks. I’m very sad when all the easy days and play times are all over. I wonder how the time went by so fast.  This Christmas vacation, many people went out to other countries to play including me. I went skiing in Hokkaido, Japan. It was fun and I ate lots of seafood.  The king crabs were really nice and delicious. I learn how to ski parallel  and  i went to many mountain to ski.  There were three mountain in the Rusutsu resort,  Mt. west, Mt. east and Mt. Isola. It was fun to see my parent fall and stuck into the deep snow. Our ski equipments were kind of heavy and it was fun to ride on the lift. Some of the lift don’t even have a bar to prevent people from falling out of the lift. It was fun to sit into the gondola lift and watch the terrain and trees. We learned about Barbara Frietchie  and the “Too soon to be a woman.” Barbara Frietchie stand up to the Confederate Amry during the civil war. She raised the Union flag in front of them while others took their flag down. In the story too soon a woman, Mary, a 18 years old girls who follow the poor family with no food and money, ate a big mushroom to test whether it’s poisonous. She risk her life for the starving kids and at the end she didn’t die. She is responsible and selfless. she act too soon like a adult because she was only 18 a teenager. We learn that we need to spell out number out up to ninety-nine. For example, we can’t write “He has 2 dogs”. We need to write “He has two dogs.”

Last Friday night, we had winter dance. The casino was very fun but it’s so expensive. We need to pay 250 NT for it and we only get one little pack of drink. It’s so expensive and I think last year dance is better. We play many games like Big 2, the dice game and the Spinning roulette wheel. Although I loss many money at the Spinning roulette wheel, i like it a lot. We can either earn lots of money and lose all our money very fast in that game.
